What is this moive about? Is it a action movie or a science fiction movie? Is it worth paying $6.50 to see or should I wait for it come out on DVD? The last time I saw cage was in the pathetic laughable "The Wicker Man" remake last summer. Does he do any better with this movie ? Also what up with this hair? Will the movie get any nominations for Razzies when they announce them?
Is the movie "next " starring Nicholas Cage a big screen movie or wait for to come out on DVD type movie?
Looks like it'd be cool to see in theatres, but I don't think it'd be worth your money. Just wait until it comes out on DVD. That's just my opinion. If I'm unsure whether or not to shell out cash in a theatre, than I just wait and get it from the library on DVD.
Reply:To answer your first question, Next is about a man who can see two minutes into the future and the government needs his help. To answer your second question, yes it is worth seeing in theaters of it is still in theaters. I loved the movie and am going to buy it on DVD. Yes, I saw The Wicker Man too... no comment. Both Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore are great in Next. I like his hair in the movie but it seems some people think elsewise. I got to meet Mr. Cage while he was filming National Treasure 2... he is a VERY sweet person. He hugged me. I can't answer if it will get any nominations at the Razzies.... my guess would be no but yet I tend to like a FEW of the movies that have recieved Razzie nominations. Hope this helps!
Reply:well to tell you the truth i think you should wait till the DVD. i mean the trailers look alright but that's my opinion and like you said whats up with his hair anyways like i said that is my opinion
Reply:Wait for DVD...
It was not bad...just not worth $6:50...or the $11:00 they charge here in NYC
Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.
Reply:dunno i generally on principle don't waste money to see nicholas cage movies
Reply:I would wait for it to come out on DVD, as its an OK flick, but, it wasn't worth the expense to go to the theater. I personally think that Cage is an average actor, more suited to do action movies that don't require a lot of talent. He shouldn't have one the Oscar for leaving Las Vagas, but, he did as the role fit his real life, as he knew how to act drunk. I doubt that Razzies will get any nominations, but who knows about Hollywood.
Reply:yes you should see on the big screen. dont be so cheep. but the ending will absolutely make you feel used.
Reply:i personally think this film is a good one and nicholas cage is good in it to!!! it is about a man (nicholas cage) who can see 2 minutes into the future, and then the fbi try to get hold of him for help but keep missing him (cos he can see them coming) but without giving to much away something he sees happening changes his mind and he helps them with a slight twist at the end. wicker man was a very poor film for nicholas cage and his last film ghost rider was a little better (my son enjoyed it!) but i would say this is another one of his good films, i would pay to watch it and i am def gonna buy it when it comes out, but everyone has their own prefrences, hope this helps u

Ask a movie question that would intrest me, I will choose best question.

Anybody seen this movie...the secretary?
I was just watching this weird movie, called "the secretary"...has anyone seen this movie!
I saw good reviews of this movie on NETflix, but then i did not even understand the theme of the movie! wtf is this movie all about really?
Why does he keep spanking her and why do they even get married!!
Is this some great modern art movie difficult to comprehend? or some bs movie made by a confused, doomed, ignorant story writer!
Anybody seen this movie...the secretary?
the secretary? i nevet see it
Reply:the secret things fo the secretary he he he
Reply:If anyone's confused and ignorant, honey, it's you. (Doomed? Well, let's hope not.) Either you're very young or you've led an extremely sheltered life - or maybe both. Check out some of the reviews of 'Secretary' on IMDb (Internet Movie Database) - they may help you understand.
Reply:yes i saw it and the reason they got married is becasue she secretly loved how controling and vindictive he was (telling her to only eat 2 peas lmao) so she proved how much she liked him by sitting at the desk until he got back...like he told her to and the reason he spanked her was becasue hes a freak and so was she
Reply:I saw the movie about 6 months ago %26amp; felt the same way. I mean, what the hell is wrong with these 2 psychos? Are there really people like that? For some strange reason, I did keep watching it, but I didn't know if I should laugh at how bizaar it was or actually take it seriously. By the end, I pretty much just said, What the...! and turned on a comedy or cartoons or something - anything to try to regain my innocence!!!
Reply:It is a strange movie - but I found it to be pretty good. SHe has issues, he has issues and they have this odd connection where each one can fulfill the others needs and by doing so they become better with themselves - ie: she won't cut herself anymore...She was actually nominated for an oscar for the role...

A movie or TV movie many many years ago, about a young cop under-covering into drug dealers and.......?
Looking for a TV movie 20-30 yrs ago about a young cop being a undercover into drug dealers, her girl died....
her girl died, and he also died and the police gave him a badge of courage after his death. I want you buddies to tell me what the name of this movie is, I saw it on TV when I was young, I still remember, the young guy was a bright cop at start, but after he got along with the bad guys, he becomes a drug addict and his fate deteriorated and ended up with losing her girl and his own life. I remembered one scene he chased a bad guy and both ran into an elevator, with their guns pointing at each other for a century, neither of them wanna pull the trigger, the air was dead, and other cops began to besieged the elevator, they didn't know there was a cop inside it...this was the most unforgettable TV movie I'd seen when I was a teenager, almost 20-30 years ago, I really wanna check it out so that I can have a full understanding of this great movie. I will appreciate if any of you can help to find it out. Really thankyou all for reading my question and please please help me to check this out!

The only one I can think of at this moment is Rush. But I'm not sure that's it.
Reply:Rush.
Reply:Not sure about this but was it called "Rush"? Maybe had Jennifer Jason Lee as a costar? ( I know it wasn't 30 years ago , this one was maybe about 17 years or so.) If not, it is a good movie. Hope I helped.

Is the 1992 movie "Batman Returns" any good? How well did it fare with fans of the series?
Is the 1992 movie "Batman Returns" starring Michael Keaton any good? What was the plot of the movie? Who all co-stars in the movie? Did it win any awards? Did the movie help Michael Keaton's career or any of his co-stars? Is it worth buying on DVD? Is there any nudity, swearing or violence in the movie? why was it rated PG-13 for?Why did Michael Keaton step down after playing Batman/Bruce Wayne twice for? How well did it fare with movie goers and movie critics? How well did it do with fans of the Batman series?
Is the 1992 movie "Batman Returns" any good? How well did it fare with fans of the series?
1. Yes, really good.
2. I'm kind of lazy to write all of it, But there is this deformed Guy called Oswald Cobblepolt (Called Penguin because of his deformity), He and a Billionaire named Max Shreck are plotting for The Penguin to become mayor of Gotham City, So that way Oswald would have the power to do anything that he wants and Max would have free will to dump Toxic Waste and keep going with his shady business, Max ''Kills'' His Secretary, Selina Kyle, But she is seemingly revived by Cats. She goes on to Become Catwoman, who is plotting a Murderous Revenge against Shrek And of course Batman who gets in everybody way to ensure the safety of Gotham City, while Bruce Wayne is developing Feelings for Selina Kyle and Vice Versa, Both not knowing each others Secret Identities. I don't want to spoil anything else.
3. From Wikipedia: Batman Returns was nominated for two Academy Awards, although it won neither. It lost "Best Visual Effects" to Death Becomes Her and "Best Makeup" to Bram Stoker's Dracula. Pfeiffer was nominated for "Most Desirable Female" at the MTV Movie Awards, but lost to Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct. Both Keaton and Pfeiffer were nominated for "Best Kiss" but lost out to Marisa Tomei and Christian Slater in Untamed Heart. Danny DeVito would be nominated for "Best Villain" though he ended up losing to Jennifer Jason Leigh in Single White Female. DeVito was once again nominated for "Worst Supporting Actor" in the Razzie Awards before losing to Tom Selleck in Christopher Columbus: The Discovery.
4. Yes. Everyone remembers Their interpretation of the characters dearly and Help them expand into wider roles, specially Michael Keaton who was mostly known for comedy until that point.
5. Yes it does.
6.There is Michelle Pfeiffer in a skin tight leather suit waving a whip, and the obvious Sex reference's that this comes with, other than that no Big sex scenes at all. There is Violence though, Not Blood and Gore but definitely No ''Pows'' hiding the punches.
7. Sex reference and Violence.
8. Because of the Man who ruin the franchise: Joel Shumacher. After a meeting with Joel over the Campy direction he was taking, Keaton decided to step down and let him ruin it with out his name being in the Film. His Concerns were justified since being in both of the Shumacher Films gave blows to everyone who worked in those films.
8. Mostly good, It is the forth Highest grossing film in all time, and it received an 81% aapproval in Rotten tomatoes.
9. I don't know how they liked it. However I do know that the TV Show was a parody and that no Comic book Batman fan Liked it very much. This Movie is Far darker and more serious than the TV show, However that doesn't mean they wont like it, But they better no be waiting for POWs and BOOMs.
Reply:It's a dark movie very arty. If you like Tim Burton movie's and you will like this one. There is no nudity or swearing as i remember.I think there is a make out part with the women that plays catwomen but it was fast wasn't that bad nothing more you wouldn't see on normal tv.There is lots of fighting violence.I would give the movie a A-. I own it.
Reply:I can't answer all of those questions but personally I loved Michael Keaton as Batman. I own all the movies from Batman to Batman Begins, and the first two with Keaton are definitely my favorites.

Reply:It was not as good as 1988 Batman, but far better than Batman Forever or Batman %26amp; Robin. I think Michael Keaton was afraid of ending up typecast like what happened to Christopher Reve. Batman forever had a smaller role for Batman as it foccused on Jim Carrey's Riddle and Robin more than Batman himself. Keaton decided to forgo a huge paycheck to prevent damage to his future carrer, something many actors fail to do. Jim Carrey's performance saved Batman Forever from box office faliure. Nothing could save Batman %26amp; Robin...what a waste, I felt ripped off leaveing the theator

Windows movie maker tells me I have an error?
I made a movie and when I go to burn the movie or save it to my computer, movie maker tells me that a file is missing (part of my movie) or that their is not enough space to save it on my computer or disk (but there is more than enough space) or files are not in their original spot (which they are). It plays fine in the timeline mode, but it does not want to burn. It is a large file because it is to music and there is about 1 hour and fifteen minutes of home video. I have made them before without any problems? Everything seems to be ok, but it just won't burn. How do I get this movie to burn?
Windows movie maker tells me I have an error?
Try closing all open programs
Also move ur Temp burning folder to a different partition which has more space..
Video burning needs lot of space n so make sure u have enough free space on ur drive
:)
Reply:1 thing that can be causing this error. Its a PC! Loose it and get a mac! Best advice I have given in a while

Dragonball Z into a MOVIE?
has there been a movie where dragonball Z has been made into a MOVIE MOVIE? Not a cartoon movie, but you know, a movie, with real people etc? i can't find the word i'm looking for :} but why hasn't anyone made one! dragonball z! is just awsome, why can't they make a movie about it, getting a cast should be no problem, its a popular show, who wouldn't try out for it! they've made all these animation movies, and so i mean coem on! i want to see Frieza! in an actual movie?! 3d and everything, WOOHOO! Who'd want that! is it something to hard to make or what :[
Dragonball Z into a MOVIE?
No there will be no DBZ movie
Reply:dude, no one has made a Dragonball Z movie Live-action. It's a waste of money, Dragonball Z is crap that gives Anime a bad name. Plus, one doesn't just sit down and make a movie in 10minutes. Besides this, it would take a fairly dependable director and such to make it a promising movie that would sell to the masses. No big director is going to throw his carreer away on this movie. Your best bet is Uwe Boll, who is anything but great, and has a carreer known for Razzies.

I really loved that movie. It's one of those ones that rattle your brains and keep you up and zoned in the whole time. Like, anyone would have to watch it a few times to get it.
I have seen movies a little similair to that aspect like the illusionist and the prestige, but they explain everything in the end in such a simple way, but donnie darko, even after the flashbacks, makes you ponder and have to watch it again.
Also, it was a science fiction.
So any other sci-fi brain rattling movies?
Sci-fi books and movies tend to have a little romance based story throughout it, and are very deep and futuristic.
But This one was a little different, about a genuis kid, who happens to see hallucinations, an dhad love/horror/family drama/depression/future/time traveling, all in one great movie..
Movies Like that please? =D

Reply:yea Donnie Darko is probably 1 of the movies on the top of my list. i dont really know any other brain rattling movies
Reply:Luckily, there is only one film like that, and that is Donnie Darko. I don't think I could stomach another subpar film like it. I really thought it was an amibitious idea without the proper knowledge, skill and talent to pull it off. And come on, when have you ever seen teens dancing and laughing to Love Will Tear Us Apart like it was some American Idol pop song?
When I think of mind-bending Sci-Fi films, I think of 2001: A Space Odyessey, or Tarkovsky's Stalker and Solaris.
I guess, what I have to say is, I have no recommendations...except maybe The Fountain. Yes, for you, The Fountain.
Reply:Get the Director's Cut of Donnie Darko...it explains the movie even more.
Reply:well its not sci fi but it will definitely make u ponder and think, i thought about this movie and even looked on the internet for explanations afterward its called mullholland drive
or try deja vu
Reply:Try The Fountain. Along with being what you're looking for, it is absolutely beautiful. Also a movie called Primer, this one is definately a head scratcher about realistic implications of time travel.
Reply:DONNIE DARKO was a poorly made and blatant rip-off of HARVEY.
HARVEY was one of my favorite movies as a kid and JERKO DARKO was just an ugly remake.
Reply:I'm quite fond of Pi and The Cube also. You might want to check those out too.
Edit: Memento is another good one.
Reply:I loved Donnie Darko
The Directors Cut of The Butterfly Effect is a cracker too, but it has to be the Directors Cut...

Horse related movie question?
Do you as a horseman/woman tend to watch movies because it has horses in it, even if it is a bad movie.
The other day I was watching the movie "Flicka". The premise of the the movie was not bad, but in my opinion the acting was horrible. Even though I felt it was bad movie I watched it, just to look at the horses.
Does anyone else here watch movies just to look at horses or am I just a little obsessed with horses
Horse related movie question?
Yes, I know what you mean. The movie "The Horse Whisperer" is supposed to be about the horse whisperer. Instead, you get into a rather stupid love affair with a child's well-being at stake, and the movie totally focuses on the people and problems they have, rather than on the horse and trainer. You see about two seconds of actual horse-training, and it isn't enough to really satisfy my curiosity at the title of the movie. I gladly watched (and bought) the movie just for the horses and idea behind it, but I thought it was sadly lacking in what I really wanted to see. I would have loved for Robert Redford to really act out Buck Brannaman's horsemanship methods, but I guess that's asking a little too much of Hollywood.
Have you seen the horse movie "Flash", about a boy who rides a horse across several states to meet his dad (coming home from war, or something)...it's modern day, set in the south, and the boy and horse really have some neat adventures. I liked it because it seemed real-life (plain ol' boy, plain ol' sorrel horse) and yet had an out-of-the-ordinary plot. Fun movie!
Reply:I watch lots of horse movies that are horrible just to look at the horses also. Don't worry, you are not the only one who is horse crazy. I go online and google image quarter horses sometimes just to look at them.
Reply:Oh sure. I love horses so I've probably seen lots of movies with that theme, although I've yet to see the movie Flicka for some reason. I didn't know the acting was bad but I'll probably rent it anyway one day. The movie Dreamer was not really great, an implausible storyline for one thing - a filly running in the Breeders' Cup Classic (would've made mroe sense if she ran in the Distaff) after having been severely injured - I didn't buy it. But I overlooked it and did enjoy it anyway.
Reply:sometimes its great to watch movies with horses, and if they are really bad i enjoy finding all the mess ups with the horses ( in that spirit movie, the horses drink by licking with their tounnges)
Reply:yeah i do the same thing. Its kinda fun to see what's going to happen in the movie. I felt the same way about flicka. I was disappointed with it. It certainly could have been better. My favortie horse movie is seabiscuit.
Reply:Yes!
I love horses, and especially if you don't have a horse, you will tend to watch some of the most HORRIBLE movies, just because they have horses in it.
Even the ones that make you cry or just have bad actors, I watch them just to see the horses.
In my opinion the best horse movie is all the Black Stallion series.

Reply:i quite honestly avoid watching certian movies because of the way they portray horseback riding is an insult once i realize i cannot watch it i turn it off
Reply:*shyly raises hand* Yes, I am guilty of movie watching for horses. Always have the hope that the moviemakers hire actual horse people for the directing, usually don't. So if it's too bad of a movie (Flicka), it's kind of fun to just pick apart the bad horsemanship. :)
Reply:sometimes i watch movies just for the horses because horses is almost what my life rvolves around.
Reply:No, I make a point to avoid them because they are usually so whimsical that they annoy me and watching people whisper to the rank stallion that then turns around and saves their life grinds my gears.
However, I do know the guy that played War Admiral's groom in Seabiscuit, great guy - ex jockey.
Reply:I have not seen the new Flicka, I still love the original Flicka, My Friend Flicka, and the sequel, Thunderhead, Son of Flicka with Roddy McDowell.
I do like horse movies, and probably because I am horse person. But I don't jump up to see horse-related movies just because they have a horse in it. It took me forever to catch Racing Stripes on HBO, and I have yet to see Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
But I do enjoy well done horse movies with a solid plot, and loveable characters. Seabiscuit, Horse Whisperer, and the 1995 remake of Black Beauty are my favorite movies. Loved Black Stallion, disliked Return of the Black Stallion. And the television movie tribute Ruffian could have been SO much better.
I like looking at the horses in movies I watch, and commenting on the riding they are receiving --- like the Arwyn the Elf in Lord of the Rings really needed to ease up on the reins of her gray horse while she was trying to escape the Ring Wraiths - horse could have run faster if it's head wasn't poker straight in the air!!
But over all, plot more than horses makes the movie for me.
Reply:I don't watch movies which are supposed to be about horses because they do stupid things in them that horses never would do. But yes, I watch bad movies for the horses. Have you seen The Legend Of Zorro? the horse is the best actor in it.
Reply:I also rent movies that have a horse as the main theme. A few are good, but there are a lot that are just terrible.
Some of my favorites are: Seabiscuit, Dreamer, Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, Hidalgo.
Some of the worst are Flicka and The Derby Stallion. I've managed to forget the names of the other terrible ones.
Reply:Yes, and I watch to see the scenery if it is a mountain setting. Just looking at the background is fun to me, whether the movie stinks or not.
Reply:I hate all the extra, fake neighs that are in most movies involving horses. If I didn't know any better I'd think horses were neighing all the time for no reason in particular. Even though that drives me nuts, I do like to look at the horses.
Reply:Haha, yeah, all the time. I watched Flicka too, and didn't really care for it, althought the horses were beautiful!
Sometimes I even watch the old western channnel just to see the horses!
I agree with equestrian, I like picking out bad horsemanship! :)
Reply:I do the exact same thing!
Reply:yep but i normally look for the mess ups. you know when the horse is a mare but they use a gelding or a second horse has a sock %26amp; the first didnt
Reply:Yeah, I'll admit it, I have been known to watch a movie for the sole reason that there's a horse in it.
I may even be a little biased towards some movies that aren't really that good but I like them anyway since there's a horse. I agree, Flicka could've been a lot better but I still liked it.
Although, I've still seen some that were downright horrible and I still disliked them despite the horses. Like Racing Stripes.... My gosh, that movie was awful.
My favorites will always be Black Beauty and Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. They're just great movies, they can make me cry no matter how many times I watch them.
Reply:i mostly watch the movie for the horses. but like in lord of the rings it wasn't just for the horses. i did though have to re watch the 2nd and thrid movies because of the horse shadowfaux. And i also ended up buying the extended versions of the movies because it really went into details on traing the hrose to ride bareback without a saddle and bridle at a gallop.( can now do that with my horse) so it depends on the movie really.

My Dinosaur Movie to be shot on Digital HD 24-P video and in an aspect ratio of 2.35:1?
Guys, What if I shot and exhibit my movie, Dinosaurs: An Epic Prehistoric Tale entirely on 24-P Digital High Definition Videotape and in an aspect ratio of 2.35:1? How can I shoot a dinosaur movie like mine in a 2.35:1 ratio? And How can I shot a dinosaur movie like mine entirely on 24-P High Definition Digital Videotape? Well, How can I fix the problems of shooting a Dinosaur movie in an aspect ratio of 2.35:1? What are some examples of dinosaur movies in an aspect ratio of 2.35:1? And...last but not least...what are some examples of dinosaur movies in an aspect ratio of 1.85:1?
Well, Answer me.
My Dinosaur Movie to be shot on Digital HD 24-P video and in an aspect ratio of 2.35:1?
[shakes head and rolls eyes]
listen kid, no one will invest in a movie like that, especially not to someone who don't know the aspect ratio of "Jurassic Park."
May be, may be if you have enough perseverence to learn and work hard and you can make your own movie like that dude who made Star Wreck movie but I doubt that someone who are willing to learn are going to ask these kind of question in this board.
Reply:Lots of good questions but i dont know much about Digital HD videos
Reply:What possible effect would the aspect ratio have to do with shooting a dinosaur movie? Either you have the equipment to shoot it and edit it or you don't.
Reply:Well, let's start with the video parts.. 24p HD at 2.35:1
First, you need a camcorder that can shoot at 24p, or more likely, 23.97p, which is the "NTSC Film" rate that's used for most film conversions to digital video (done so because this allows a relatively simple 3:2 pulldown to standard 29.976fps NTSC video). If you don't have a 24p camcoder, you CAN resample 29.976fps to 23.97fps, but the results aren't always perfect, and you probably need a fairly high-end video editor, or a dedicated application, to do this well.
24p mode camcorders have been fairly high-end models until recently, and of course, even HD digital has been on the expensive side for awhile (my first HDV camcorder ran $2600, I have a second that went for only $800, and that was last year). Among lower cost camcorders that support 24p, look at the Canon HV-20 ($900):
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Can...
If you're renting, or have a big budget, the Panasonic HVX-200 ($6000) is beautiful, and allows recording on standard HDV tape, or full variable speed recording (12fps - 60fps) on P2 memory cards. A tape-only higher end HD camcorders that does 24p is the Sony HVR-V1U ($4200).
Now, since the HDTV standard is 16:9, you're not going to find anything outside of Hollywood that shoots video at anything but 16:9 or 4:3. You have two choices. The first is simply to crop to 2.35:1... that's easy enough, and many high end camcorders let you set up custom guide lines for framing, but it is wasted resolution. The other option is to use an anamorphic lens. This is how folks were getting true 16:9 on 4:3 camcorders a decade ago, and how Hollywood was shooting widescreen half a century ago. Basically, this sort of lens is wide angle on the horizontal, but straight through on the vertical.. so it compresses horizontally. See the links.. most anamorphic lenses for DV camcorders give you 16:9 on a 4:3 mode camcorder, so you would get 2.35:1 when used on a 16:9 camcorder, as long as there's enough coverage.
As far as "dinosaur movies" shot in 2:35:1...I can't think of one. "Jurassic Park" was show in 1.85:1. Most non-fiction dinosaur films are shot with Science Channel, Discover Channel, etc. in mind, so they're most likely shot for 16:9... or they're IMAX, which is of course another dimension entirely, not something you do with a camcorder.

Which movie gave you childhood nightmares?
I'm sure everyone has a childhood memory of some movie that gave them nightmares. Mines was Robocop 2...I still blame it for the one movie that scared me away from anything robot-like. Before that movie, my favorite films were Robocop, Short Circuit, and theTerminator. I loved watching cartoons like Go-Bots and Transformers. Anything mechanical I loved...until my parents took me to see this movie. It must have been the Drug aspects of Robocop 2 that really scared me as a child. I also blame that movie as the reason I was scared away from Drugs while growing up, it scarred me!. Awwww 2 Bad.

Other horror movies I knew were not real my parents taught me that noone can come back from the dead and hurt people, but there are old ladies out there who give kids apples and I was scared shi***ss of being poisioned.
Go ahead and laugh now.
Reply:OMG! i love scary movies, but the ones like Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy vs. Jason, those scared the heck out of me. Also The texas chainsaw massacre... that one scared me until i was like14... lol.
Reply:Ernest Scared Stupid and Jurassic Park scared the crap out of me. I thought I was gonna turn into one of the kids that was stuck in a cacoon in the tree like the kids in Ernest scared stupid. And I thought a dinosaur would eat me and kill me every time I went to the bathroom after watching Jurassic Park. I even had nightmares that dinosaurs ate me for about a week. Now I don't like Ernest movies, even tho they aren't really scary, and I hate anything to do with dinosaurs.
My brother was 9 years older than me growing up and he used to make me watch scarry movies until I cried. Then one time when he was babysitting me, I was maybe 5 years old, he put on a Freddy costume and chased me around the house. I was bawling my eyes out trying to outrun him, I fell and got rug burn on my hands and knees, and almost called 911. He took the mask off when I picked up the phone. He had the mask, the hat, the glove with claw things, the striped shirt, black pants....he had it all. I guess it was his Halloween costume or something. But it scared me to death. Now at 20 years old I cannot watch any movies with Freddy in them. So all the Nightmare on Elm Streets and Freddy vs. Jason.
Don't get me wrong, I love the new age scary movies like Saw and stuff. But it's the old stuff I can't watch.

Do you like the movie world trade center?
that movie.... is a wonderful sight! it shows all the things that happened to a GIGANTIC GROUP of policemen AND only turned out THAT THERE WERE ONLY 2 policemen that stayed alive in ALL that time of danger and fear. the truth is, if you have been wondering about what happened to the world trade center (twin towers), this movie is the answer to all your questions. It ia the best movie that you will cherish and it is a movie that is worth looking at it. even the cover is very interesting. the thing that makes it really sad, is the background music. it makes you wanna cry. that movie is the best movie i have seen thorughout my whole life. it could say some bad words and bad or bad expressions/ bad scenes or scenes that are very suspensing and might scare you or your children (if u have). this movie..... will make you say "oh this movie doesnt look that interestng" and then when you see it, you will love it. like people always say "never judge a book by its cover" .
Do you like the movie world trade center?
i completely agree with you. i sat sobbing through the entire movie. this movie shows who the true heroes were on 9/11. it was very graphic in some of the scenes, but i think for people to recover from the horrific day, we need to know what really happened to our loved ones. it may be a hard movie to watch, but it was so suspenseful and really portrayed the true heroes of 9/11. i hope that more people will get a chance to see this movie. some people say "it's too soon for this horrific movie" but i say it was too soon for those people to die and they really deserve this motion picture that tells their story. they truly are the brave and courageous of this united and strong country and i believed that they should stay a part of us forever, which is what this movie does. and like you said, "never judge a book by its cover".
Reply:I agree. It really showed you how it felt to be there and reminded you that these were real people in there.

Windows Movie Maker - Save Movie File?
I have completed a movie that is approx 7 minutes long and make up of heaps of different photos. It is complete with transitions, timeframes and music. The enitre file is approx 2.8MG. When I go to save it as a movie file so that I can send it to people as a windows movie file...the file never plays back properly. It will always get to about half way and the pictures will just stop. The music will continue to play but its like the movie is frozen on 1 picture...it happens on a different picture each tim I resave...why??
Windows Movie Maker - Save Movie File?
It might actually be a problem with your windows movie maker itself, you can try backing up the saved file on a disk or something and then reinstalling windows movie maker then reload it from the disk. Also, before you save it, do a test run just to see if there are any errors. It might have something to do with some of the timeframes you've added, so try fiddling around with some of those.
Best of luck!

Yahoo Movie User Reviews Aren't Fair?
Before I go to see a movie, I like to watch clips and listen to people who have seen the film already.
I used to think that Yahoo User Reviews were fair and the people had seen the movie and wanted to give me the skinny.
After a while I noticed how many of the reviews were either from people who hadn't seen the movie, or they exaggerated their review by either giving the movie all A's or all F's.
So my question is, out of critics and users, who should I listen to before I see a movie?
Yahoo Movie User Reviews Aren't Fair?
Ok. This is going to be a long question, so just be patient.
Alright, people on Yahoo Reviews do that so they can have the top review. They even make fake accounts so they can say their review is the best. They also take ideas from critics they like or judge it just on who is in it. Like when I KNOW WHO KILLED ME came out, people wrote reviews just to diss Lindsey. And when Pirates 2 came out, 3000 ratings had been made by 9 am. It is all just a contest who can get the most best answers on the most popular movies. I have a rule where I like to see the movie before I rate it. But, that is not the case to other people.
Critics and Yahoo Reviews are similar. There will be a mixture of those who hate or love it. My advice is to go through movies you've liked or hated and find a critic or critics who have enjoyed that movie. If you agree with a certain one the most, he or she or they are now your personal critic. DON'T USE MOVIE MOM!!!! She only rates movies by appropriateness, if that is a word.
My advice is to watch clips or look at proffesional critics reviews. If you like what the movie is about, chances are you will like it.
ALTHOUGH, you could use me. I can guess pretty much what movies you like or don't like by you telling me your top ten favorite and least favorite movies.
Add me to Yahoo Contacts if you are interested.
Reply:You pretty much answered your own question! Since the Yahoo Movies user base can't be relied upon to provide substantive reviews instead of rants, consult the critics instead. Similar to the above answerer, my suggestion is that you look up a few critics online, check their archive of reviews, and read their opinions on movies that you've seen. Then you can either consider the recommendations of critics who generally agree with you OR you'll know enough about how they disagree with you so that you can weigh their opinions accordingly.

Best movie oscar winners, overrated movies?
Who agrees with me that very often the winner of the academy award for best movie is an overrated film?
I mean for example, there's like a pattern that if it's a movie about gay people (not criticizing them), it tends to be nominated. Now, from what I've read there's a lot of gay people in the movie industry. Now, I think it's kind of unfair that because they indentify with the characters in a movie they dub it as the best. By saying that I mean that I think a lot of times they leave their personal interests or thoughts get in the way of an objective opinion.
What do you think? Please don't answer citing my example, it's just an example...

I am STILL pissed that
SHAKESPEAR IN LOVE beat SAVING PRIVATE RYAN for Best Picture....are ya' kidding me!!
Reply:Moonstruck won for best picture, totally overrated and beat out a now classic Good Morning Vietnam.
Many years the best picture does not win, who thnks that these were good movies:
2003 Lord of the Rings - a sleeping aid
2002 Chicago - over hyped
1999 American Beauty
1993 Schlindler's list
1990 Dances with Wolves - you've got to be kidding me
I would not buy a copy of any of the above movies and I have a large collection of movies.
Reply:My suggestion for an overrated movie goes back a lot farther than just a few years. But way back in 1968, Mel Brooks' script for "The Producers" won the Oscar for Best Screenplay, which I thought was ridiculous. How on earth could so many Academy people have thought that "The Producers" was some kind of a great movie with a great script? Very overrated, IMO.
Reply:Blair Witch Project still has me baffled as to what the hell was so good about it....
Reply:You seem to be talking about a couple different things. As far as movies that won Oscars that I might have felt should have gone to another contender, the only one that immediately comes to mind is ROCKY, which beat out TAXI DRIVER for Best Picture.
As far as there being a pattern where movies that depict gays get nominated for Best Picture, I guess I'd want to see your list. I don't see any such distinguishable pattern.
I don't really understand your reasoning for citing the example you did and then not being willing to back it up with a least some kind of actual movie titles, but whatever... it's your question.

2003-Shakespeare In Love? All it's competitors were better movies. ( Elizabeth, Life is Beautiful, Saving Private Ryan, The Thin Red Line)
2004- Million Dollar Baby was good but i thought that Finding Neverland was a much better movie
There are quite a few gay people in the movie business but I don't think that sways judgment the only gay premised movie i can think of is Brokeback Mountain and it didn't even win?
I think peoples opinions are swayed buy boxoffice numbers and how critics perceive the movie not there own original opinion.

Donnie Darko movie?

Donnie Darko movie?
I love Donnie Darko! These movies are similar but are not really science fiction.

Care Bears movie question?
If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. When my husband was little, he saw a care bears movie that he would like to find for family purposes. All he can remember from the movie is: there is a little girl (real, not animated as the rest of the movie is) who travels through a mirror to the care bears' world, %26amp; she gets her shoe stuck in the mirror. She tries to get her shoe, but the bears tell her she won't need shoes anyway, so she takes off her other one %26amp; tosses it. (At the end of the movie they return her shoe to her) The only other thing he can remember is at some point either the girl or some of the bears are frozen %26amp; need rescued. Once rescued, they return her home. I know this is extremely vague, %26amp; I wish I had more info to provide. We do know it's not the adventures in wonderland movie. If anyone knows what it is, we would really appreciate the input. If it sounds familiar to you, but may not be a care bear movie, we'd still love to know. Thanks so much...Jess

Reply:Try looking up info on "The Care Bears Battle the Freeze Machine" (1984) or "The Care Bears in the Land Without Feelings" (1983). I think it might be one of those two! I hope this helps you. Good luck!

Name of movie about cop trying to get killed?
So years ago I saw a movie, and I'm curious what the name is..
All I remember is it's about a cop for some reason trying to get killed "in the line of duty"
I'm pretty sure it was a comedy.. I remember him chasing all kinds of crazy killer type people practically begging them to kill him
Name of movie?
and why was he trying to get himself killed??
I think it's a pretty old movie.. 80's or early 90's.. maybe even late 70's...
Thanks in advance

Reply:Sounds like "Lethal Weapon" Mel Gibson is a cop who loses his wife and feel he has no reason to live any more so he constantly goes out of his way to put himself in life threatening situations.....

Nearing retirement, Dabney Coleman finds that he has a disease that will kill him within days. He then finds that his life insurance only pays off if he is killed in the line of duty. In order to leave something to his wife and children, Coleman becomes supercop, ignoring danger and trying his best to get killed.

Reply:The name of the movie is Short Time. It came out in 1990. He is a cop that found out he was dying, so he wanted to die in the line of duty to make sure his wife and son were taken care of. Turned out his medical records were some how swapped and he was looking at someone elses. Pretty funny movie.

What scary movie should i watch?
i want to watch a scary movie butt not really scary because i never watched a scary movie ever, What Scray movie should i watch HELP
What scary movie should i watch?
NOT SAW! Watch a throw back scary movie like Nightmare on Elm Street, or Jason. They'll always be scary, but they're kind've corny now too -- so it should be "scary, but not really scary."
P.S. Stay away from the SAW movies if you don't care for disgusting gory scary movies, they're really disturbing to watch.
Reply:This is hard cuz scary is subjective; what scares you may not scare someone else. You can try "The Eye" which stars Jessica Alba which I think is not very scary. The Hannibal series, which consists of "The Silence of The Lambs", "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal" are good movies but they are so scary!! I read the books before I watched the movies and they scared me already! They're good stories though!
Reply:That depends what you can stomach. I hate bloody horror movies, because it totally grosses me out! For non really bloody movies, there are the final destinations (the first one is the best), I know what you did last summer, When darkness falls, The fog, The others(that was creepy and surprising).
Some movies with blood are Saw(really bloody and gory), Hostel, Scream(although it's not that scary), Friday the 13th, and Halloween.
Reply:Nightmare n Elm Street it's scary and funny at the same time. If yu never watched scary movies this is the movie b/c it's not really that scary. Also try Friday the 13th that's funny scary also. Saw is terrifying and gory I dn't think you want to start off with that.
Also try Jeepers Creepers
Reply:Well, if you want to get used to watching Scary Movies, I suggest you start with the scariest. The scarier the better. But if you want to start off like a wimp (just kidding), I suggest...

What is your favorite movie of all time?
I know one can break down this question into comedy, drama, action etc., but I want your favorite movie of ALL time. Mine is Stalag 17. William Holden starred in this gem and it is just a tremendous movie. I'd also like each of you to offer your suggestions on up to three 'sleeper' movies as must sees for the community. Here are my three sleeper movies. 1. Owning Mahoney (based on a true story) 2. Rogue Trader (based on a true story) 3. Happiness - This is as dark a movie as you will ever see and may be a little disturbing to some of you. This movie is not for children. Have fun with this question and I hope all of you movie lovers discover a new flick to love.
Note - I believe that Blockbuster has taken Happiness off of their shelves, but try and find it if you like dark and twisted movies.

Pulp Fiction/ Fight Club
Reply:I don't watch too many movies of today. Last movie I saw at theatre was "Wild Hogs". Reply:Stalag 17 is definitely a really good one but I would have to say Apollo 13 is my #1 all time favorite. I could watch it over and over. Even though I know the ending, I cry every single time because the movie is so well done - everything from acting, to music, to script is perfect.
As for sleepers, The Dish is a great little Australian movie about this satellite, stuck in the middle of a sheep field, that ends up being the primary receive for the moon walk. It's just this great little quirky movie and it even has Sam Neill and Patrick Warburton.
Another great unknown is Oscar which has Sylvester Stallone as a 1930s gangster who promises his dying father he'll go straight and become honest. The entire movie focuses on one morning in his life when he's set to become a banker, but everything just keeps going wrong. I don't think I've seen Stallone in any other comedy.
I don't know if this classifies as a sleeper, but Father Goose is on my top 3 list. It's one of Cary Grant's last films and he is absolutely amazing as a curmudgeony old drunk during WWII who gets stuck plane-spotting on an island and then gets overrun by a stranded French teacher and her 7 little girls. He's perfect for the role.

What movie should I take a 20 year old girl to on our first date?
She said one of her friends recommended "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" since its funny, but also that the movie Leatherheads looked good.
I mainly want a chance to finally spend some time with her, but I'd also like a movie that isn't going to have anything that will make either of us uncomfortable, like nudity or love scenes. She said she likes action and horror movies a lot too.
Aside from the new Indiana Jones or Batman movies, I'm pretty clueless about the new movies coming out.
What movie should I take a 20 year old girl to on our first date?
DO NOT SEE FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL:
on IMDB.com, look up your movie, then scroll down under "Additional Details" and they'll have "View content advisory for parents".... where other users can describe what kind of violence, nudity, language, etc are in any given movie.
"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" sounds really raunchy actually. Might be a little awkward. Here is the link straight to that page.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800039/pare...
they didn't have any parental advisory for Leatherheads.
good luck!! i hope you have a great first date!!
Reply:If you want to spend time with her, going to a movie isn't the best idea. Try putt-putt or something. Somewhere you can talk and see her. If you do go to a movie, Indiana Jones is your best pick. Batman Begins will have action, but there will also be love scenes. Speed Racer comes out next weekend, not too far away and it's got action, humor, and it's cool. "Sarah Marshall" has lot's of nudity by the way. :) As for horror, The Happening by M Night Shymalan is coming out this summer. There are tons more like the dope comedy Pineapple Express coming out, but they are all to far into the summer.
But I think Speed Racer would be perfect. It's next week and will not make you feel comfortable.
Reply:I'd say Sarah Marshall. Leatherheads is about football and supposedly sucks.
But I don't recommend seeing a movie on a first date.... you need a place that you can get to know each other and talk and enjoy each other.... not sitting in the dark in silence.
Reply:Well forgetting srah marshall has full frontal male nudity in it. Charlie Bartlett is really good kind like superbad but less swearing and more drugs. Prom Night stunk. I heard that Baby Momma is going to be good. Smart People was really good.
I hope I helped
Reply:Maybe you could ask her what she wants to do or see. The other answer about doing something other than seeing a movie is good. Keep it casual and see what you want to do together when you meet up. Maybe you could just walk around somewhere and talk. Good luck.

Old movie: about ghost of a bus crash who pass on through the help of a boy into his adulthood?
I saw a preview of this movie through an old "special effects" show that explained how movie magic was made. I saw the full movie only once later on. Here's the plot, of what I remember: There's this group of people on a bus that has an accident, which kills them (turning them into ghost). Anyways, they don't pass on to eternity. Instead, they find themselves stuck on earth, bound (literally) to a baby boy for some reason (I can't remember, or maybe it wasn't explained). Well, they are forced to stay with him all the way to his adulthood. I think somewhere in there, the baby, now a man, is stuck with the ghosts only he can see. He starts helping them by being a 'ghost whisperer' to their families so they can move on. Sometimes one of the ghost possesses the man in order for them to act out their dying wish.
Please, I hope someone out there knows what movie I'm talking about. I want to know the name and anything else about it? If not, where can I go to track down this old movie?

Need scary movie.?
I need a scary movie that isn't 18's. Can you people give me a list of really scary movies? I would prefer for them to be 15's but you can put a 12's movie on the list aswell if you want but it has to be really scary. No 18's movies. Don't bother putting an 18's movie in your list. Remember, it has to be really scary. If you know a movie with alot of really suspensive bits they would be the best. Thank you.
Need scary movie.?

What movie should I watch tonight?
I have recently watched the following movies (in the following order):
The Bourne Trilogy
Spider-man trilogy
I am Legend
Minority Report
Children of Men
Casino Royale
Stardust
I, Robot
Goodfellas
Gone Baby Gone
American Gangster
My choices were influnced by the last movies I watched. For example, Goodfellas led to American Gangster. I more or less liked all of them. I particularly liked Bourne, Children of Men and the Spidermen movies. I am ashamed of it but I liked Stardust too.
Whenever I put my likes into those movie suggestion generators I never like any of the suggestions. I like newer movies, anything older than 1990 won't go. Preferably available on blu-ray or hd-dvd. I value picture quality and surround sound, but don't obsess over them. I sometimes avoid indie/low budget films because of this, but then sometimes like thme anyway if I watch them. But that doesn't mean I want one.
Please answer correctly. Thank you!

Reply:The last movie I saw and really liked was The Mist, I can't give you any details but if you havn't read the book (by Stephen King) then watch it, it might be a little to take but it's all worth it for the ending.
Reply:Stardust is a very enjoyable film, so I don't know why you would be ashamed to admit that you liked it.
Anyway, I would recommend "Breech" and "Smokin' Aces" based on what you wrote above. Breech is a very intense film that is plot driven. Smokin' Aces will look terrific on hd-dvd/blu-ray and has nearly non-stop action, but forget the plot.
Also, if you can stand monster movies then you might want to check out "Dragon Wars". Yes, it is a little cheesy but it looked fabulous on my big screen at home. I was really impressed with the CGI in Dragon Wars.

It came out a few years ago, it's by Joss Whedon. It's about the future, it's sci fi, action, about people in space on a ship called Serenity. Space and the future are done more realistically. The enemies are scary. It makes you think. It makes you laugh.
This movie has it all. I'm serious. It is my all time favorite movie in the world.
