i can't get over them.
i watched about 10 minutes of blood diamond, got sad, and turned if off. all of these movies have made me upset. i watched tears of the sun and haven't been able to watch another movie about that kind of stuff... and i watched that movie when i was 10. (i am now 13 almost 14). i'm black, but not african. im jamaican. is there like anyway i can get over the sadness and depression of these movies? why doesn't anybody go and help? i dont understand people. if i was old enough i would certainly go and help them. i'm not saying i pitty all africans, because i know not all of africa is poor. i just feel horrible for the ones who are dealing with famine and problems like that... and i would sponsor a child but me and my mom are tight on money, but we are still able to survive.
The movie blood diamond + other depressing african movies?

Reply:These movies are so sad because they are so true. What happens to them is horrible. There are however, many people who have gone and are still over there helping in any way that they can. I think that it is wonderful that you want to help; don't lose that compassion for other people. A way to move past that sadness is to pray for them. Prayer really does work. Psalm 10:17 %26amp; 18 says,
"LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will prepare their heart;
You will cause Your ear to hear.
To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,
That the man of the earth may oppress no more."
Help them by praying until God gives you another way of helping. God bless you and your loving heart.
Reply:i love the african movies, and I am an american, my sister brought some african movies back from her trip from jamanica, yes some of them are heart broking but maybe we need to see this type of thing to bring some of us back to reality of how to treat one another and to appreciate what we have as a family, friends ,health children , money and love for each other. The movies are real and i love them i am happy that i was lucky enough to come across these types of movies ,instead of gangster american movies all of the time.
