90's movie?

I need some help trying to find a movie. I'm not sure how to word it to search for it and so far I'm coming up with nothing. I'm trying to find a movie that came out in the 90s about a teenage boy who was always playing video games, usually killer kinda games (sorta like Doom) and he got this cd that was for a game and when he'd play it, stuff would happen in real life, one of his friends died or something. Does this sound like a movie anyone has seen? I remember the guy was kind of a one-hit wonder, he wasn't in a lot of movies and didn't last long as an actor (kind of like Shane McDermott). It's driving me nuts that I can't remember the movie. Whatever the name of the video game was, that was the name of the movie too. And I want to say it was a one or two word title.

Any suggestions? Anyone seen this?

90's movie?
Brainscan. The game released that demon dude that kept convincing Edward Furlong to play the game and finish it.

Reply:Geez. You know that these points don't mean anything right? They have no bearing on real life. Report It

Reply:Who said they had any "bearing on real life"? I'm the person who answered that points could be redeemed for chalupas at Taco Bell, so I'm fully aware of the uselessness of the points, as well as the overall concept of this site. It's a matter of principle. Report It

Reply:that sounds like War Games but i dont think that was a 90s movie.
Reply:It seems like I do remember something like this....try going to www.imdb.com I think you can search by plots there.
Reply:brainscan

great movie
Reply:one good movie is NOTHING BUT TROUBLE it is a little scary in some parts!!! that is if you like scary movies! but you'll live!♥
Reply:I think it's Brainscan. Best wishes
Reply:It was Brainscan with Edward Furlong, who, although he never became a huge star, was hardly a "one-hit wonder". He has lots of good movies to his credit, most notably Terminator 2.
