Is there a specific scene from a horror movie that is so disturbing that it stuck with you for a long time (even years after seeing the movie)?
I have a scene that stuck with me from the movie Ghost Ship (2002). It's from the beginning, when all of the ships passengers were on the main deck dancing and the metal cables snap and swing down and slice through everybody in multiple places and it happens so quickly that for a moment afterward, the bodies are still standing upright and then all of a sudden the bodies begin to quiver and the parts fall to the floor.
I think that's the craziest scene from a horror movie that I've ever seen. I could not "unsee" that scene for about a week and a half after watching that movie for the first time. It was like every time I closed my eyes I pictured it. I still think about it from time to time...

Horror movie fans: Is there a...?
...I work security in one of San Diego, Ca's finest hotels, one of which was originally founded in the early 1900's, and it's supposed to be haunted; upon initially working there, I paid little heed to the rampant and wild stories, bantered about the more seasoned staff. However, in walking the guest room hallways, with the dead silence, and the creaky floors, I am constantly reminded of the classic 1980 horror shocker, "The Shining"; it just might have been my imagination, but several times over the six years I've been employed there, I have turned the corner, opening up to one of several long and stretching guest room hallways, and I swear that on those occasions, for a split second, I have seen those two little twin girls from the movie, at the far end of the hallway, beckoning with "...come and play with us!!". Least to say, I don't walk down that particular hallway, at that particular time....
...it's pretty damn spooky as hell, but at the same time, it's sorta like having the thrills and chills of a horror film, but for an instance, it's for real....
Reply:It's not just you! I also have a scary scene stuck in my head. It's from One Missed Call when the girl is cutting her sisters arm. I also have another scene stuck in my head. It's from the movie 1408 when he looks out the window and their is like a mirror image of him on the other window of a building. The guy in the other building then gets killed in front of his eyes. He turns around, and there is a ghoust of the thing who killed the other guy!
Reply:I watch so many horror movies that nothing bugs me that much except for 2 things:
Finger nails being ripped off/scraping sounds (P2)
and eyes being poked out or touched (See No Evil, Zombi)
Theres a few scenes from Cannibal Holcaoust that still bug me to this day
Reply:Yes, one is in the movie 'the Ring' when samara comes out of the tv.. with her jerky weird movements that freaked me out.
And another is 'the exorcist' when the possessed girl comes down the stairs on her hands in feet...weird. That sent chills down my spine!
Reply:That was an awesome scene on Ghost Ship. That totally made the movie worth watching.
For me I would havge to say thge re-release of the Exorcist. When Reagan is going down the stairs backwards on all fours. THAT was creepy!
Reply:When Laurie Strode is backing into the shadow and we gradually see Micheal Myers mask appearing in the dark! The original, "Halloween" is a genuine classic!
Reply:Kevin Bacon's character getting the arrow pushed through his throat in the original "Friday the 13th"...awesome scene.
Reply:The beheading in the Omen. Most of the film Cannibal Holocaust!! Certain torture scenes from the film Blood Sucking Freaks that are too sick to mention in detail here.
Reply:When Reagan crawls down the stairs backwards in Exorcist...................................
I get the creeps thinking about it every time!
Reply:gosh the whole
emily rose movie
just because
her name was emily
kinda freaky
Reply:There is so many good creep out scenes-but 2 i can think of is in Halloween 4 when loads of people are wearing the Michael Myers mask %26amp; the cop raises his gun %26amp; they all chicken out %26amp; go running but when the cops drive away the Real Michael is standing ther in the street! Creepy knowing he was so close.....
The other is the scene in Blair Witch 2 when they open the warehouse door %26amp; the freaky girl walks all weird %26amp; backwards on the bridge saying "You brought it back with you"
