I think the movie was all right. It grossed pretty well in the box office and had great merchandise to boot.
Reply:Batman Forever was certainly better than the film that followed. Val Kilmer was fine as Bruce Wayne, up to that point he was the only one that had bothered to work out for the role. Joel Shumacher, the director of the film, despised him toward the end of the film and didn't want him to come back for the next one. Worth the DVD, surely. Although Tommy Lee Jones over the top performance is almost as bad as Arnold's in the next film. Critics were iffy about the film, which took all the darkness out of the character and made him more campy. The fans of the comic enjoyed it, I'd say, but were really praying for a day when Batman would be fully realized, such as in Batman Begins and the upcoming The Dark Knight.
Reply:Batman Forever ("BF") was worse than the first two movies, but better than what followed: "Batman %26amp; Robin" (1997). All four of those movies are not as good as Batman Begins("BB") which is the most accurate intrepretation of the comics. I will also argue that "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" (1993) is just as good if not better than BB.

BF is the first time Robin, played by Chris O'Donnell, appears in the series and joins Batman after his parents are killed in a circus show held up by Two-Face (played by Tommy Lee Jones). Drew Barrymore (Sugar) and Debbie Mazar (Spice) played the two lady henchman of Two-Face. The Riddler (played by Jim Carrey) started in the movie as a Wayne Enterprises scientist who had a man crush on Bruce Wayne. When he demonstrates his invention to Bruce, it is dismissed as too dangerous because it manipulates brainwaves and The Riddler vowed revenge on Bruce after he is fired. The Riddler partners with Two-Face to steal money to start a competing company to Wayne Enterprises. The love interest to Bruce this time around is a criminal psychologist, Chase Meridian, played by Nicole Kidman. I won't give away the plot because you should see the movie, it's not that terrible but it did suck.

The director, Joel Schumacher, did not take the movie's characters or the Batman mythology too seriously. He had corny one-liners and a strange neon-glow Art Direction throughout the movie. I believe it was an attempt by him to pay homage to the old Batman television series with Adam West, but it wasn't well received by audiences or critics. The movie was the most expensive Batman at that time ($100M) and grossed a dissappointing $184M domestically. However it did do $100M in rentals.

It was nominated for Best Sound, Sound Effects Editing, and Cinematography. No clue as to your other questions, it's PG-13 probably because of the cartoon-esque violence.
Reply:all batman films are good (except batman %26amp; robin) this one is second worse. but being the worst is a long way off.
Reply:chill w/ all the questions bro . . . . it wasnt great but it wasnt horrible either. i remember watching it %26amp; thought it could have been way better. just watch it %26amp; make your own assertions. . . . .
