Old Movie Name?

I remember seeing a movie on First Choice Movie Station back in the eighties, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it, just the plot.


I have searched all over the net with not luck of finding it. I can't remember the exact year it was either. I just know i was pretty young. On to the movie:





The movie was about petrolium. The world had run out, and gas automobiles were outlawed and everything went electric. (sounds like our future) they took all the gas autos and destroyed them, but this one guy took apart his lemans race car and buried it under his garage. along with some fuel he had. for whatever reason many years later (a rescue or something) the unburied the car, reassembled it, and took off, when word of a gas racecar running around, they sent out the electric police. needless to say they couldnt' catch him, so they reassembled an old Jet fighter to chase him down.





I don't know why I want to find this movie so bad, maybe its the goofy story.

How much gas did this guy have saved up? Wouldn't he have just eventually ran out of gas

Reply:Sounds abit like Mad Max but im sure its not. Still u should chek that out if u havent seen it.
