Windows movie maker project format not compatible with windows movie maker?!?

I have been sent a windows movie maker project format movie and it doesnt open on my windows movie makers!!!





Coming up with "selected file is either not windows media maker format or is corrupt" but it is not corrupt as it plays fine on someone elses windows movie maker!





Is there anyway of making it play?

Is it a project or an actual movie you are trying to accept?





If it is a project, make sure it has an .mswmm extension at the end of the file name. Try another project to make sure there's nothing wrong with your software.





If it is a movie and it plays fine on someone else's software, do try another movie and make sure it can play. If not, make sure it is in a compatible format. The following formats are supported:

.asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv. So you will need to convert your file.

Reply:Are you sure that is windows movie maker, not windows player? (i think you r probably are but that's always worth a try)





Also check that the file extension is (without quotations) 'MSMMM'.





You should also check that you both have the same version as that could make a difference.
