Reply:recently i saw american history x but it was on cable chanel FX and they cut a ton of stuff out of it, but when i saw how much dereck changed from his time in prison was like wow he completely wants a new life.
children of men was great it was about how all the women in the world could not concieve, or if they did they miscarried, great movie if you have time watch it.
Reply:Sid and Nancy was an eye-opener for me.
Downfall was great too, though be prepared to read the subtitles.
Reply:Children of men...is a beautifully made movie...it carries a scary truth behind it...it made me want to get into film...
Reply:Crash
Trainning Day
Platoon
Alfred Hitchcock's Rope, Strangers on a Train, Psycho (1960's version) and Rear Window
Wait Until Dark
The Grey Zone
Brazil
The Day After
Klute
Rain Man
Kramer vs Kramer
White Heat
Black Like Me
Reply:Requiem For A Dream, Better Luck Tomorrow; those listed above are great, too
Reply:Crash and Schindlers list
Reply:Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont~This probably would be too "fluffy" for you. It deals with aging and bridging the "Generation Gap" and mainly is about people caring about each other.
Five Desperate Hours (1997)
Into the Homeland (1987)
Another Day in Paradise
Before and After (1996)
Requiem for a Dream
A Home of Our Own
The Station Agent
Betrayed (1988)
American Heart
White Oleander
The Lookout
Bully
Some are harsh and gritty, but others are positive and even inspiring. It will be clear which is which. The harshest of all time for me is "Requiem for a Dream". I haven't even been able to watch it a second time because it's that powerful. You care about these people and don't want them to be destroyed.
Reply:The emotive novel “Once Were Warriors” was later adapted into a screenplay of the same name, and gives us a detailed insight into the lives of the Heke family, an unstable Maori family, whose trouble’s are realised all to late. This film moves me, and is an eye opener into the lives of maori families.
Reply:American Me
Platoon
Hamberger Hill
Schlindler List
Full Metal Jacket
We Were Soldiers
Blackhawk Down
Reply:Rain Man, Shawshank Redemption and the Pursuit of Happiness were three great movies that touched me. Also What's Eating Gilbert Grape. It doesn't start as the greatest movie but the endings worth it.
