Movie Critics suck....?

Should we not believe movie critics???

I mean, they all give movies bad ratings......but, they are all 40 to 50 year old men/women whose soul purpose is to give a rating to movie which they are too old to enjoy....

shouldn't magazines and other pplz that hire movie critics, get critics that are all ages....so that not all people get a bad impression of a film?

Movie Critics suck....?
Well a large majority of movies DO suck. although I agree that sometimes critics can be over critical. But what is more annoying is how biased thay can be when scorig films.
Reply:All critics suck.

But someone has to do that job, because people can't make decisions for themselves. The critics have to fill up the paper with something, so i figure they just write whatever their narrow-minds think of first.
Reply:Historicaly many of the movies that i call classics now, were booed by the critics.

examples:

Fantasia

On her majesty's secret service

Psycho

Etc, etc, so YES, people have to go to the movie they want and not pay attention about a guy in a desk tell them wich movio go to see.
Reply:The think with movie critics is you have to find one who has similar tastes to yourself. Just like every person likes different movies, every critic likes different movies. If you were to take the time to go the list of reviews from most critics you would probably find they liked many of the same movies you did (unless your preference is for things like Date Movie, The Benchwarmers, or Little Man). And if you took the time to watch some of their top rated movies you would probably find you enjoy them as well.

The main thing you have to remember about movie critics is anyone worth their salt will see several hundred movies a year. When you watch that many movie, you quickly grow tired of bad plots, bad writing, and bad acting.

I do agree the critics should skip some movies because the people who are going to see those movies are not interested in their opinion. That's part of the reason the studios have stopped screening many of their garbage movies for critics - much to the dislike of the critics.
Reply:Yeah they do! Generally if the critics say something sucks, I go see it... and if the critics do like it, I wont see it! haha.
Reply:HELL yeah all they like is foreign films and crap with Johnny Depp(that's right i said it)
Reply:just becuase a movie has a big openung doesnut mean it dusnt suck.

parrus hilton has a big opuning and she suckks. LOL

i am glad critucks see bad movies so i donut half to
Reply:I 100% agree with you...let the movie critics reflect who the movie is marketing to.
Reply:I think everyone has their own taste. I love a lot of movies that are not considered great. But there characters have some chemistry and the I can connect with stories, so I don't care what idiot says on TV or in a paper.
Reply:the problem is that there are way too many demographics and if we get a critic for each one theyre just going to cater to their own demographic. at least the "old" critics are respacted and have good taste, and know how to really analyze a movie. (plus it's spelled "sole" not "soul" when you're talking about "only")
Reply:Sir, as a critic, I feel compelled to mention that I don't fit your age criteria (I'm 38) and there are plenty of younger critics out there. We don't all fall in the 40-50 range.

What you need to do is find a critic whose taste is close to yours, then follow that person's opinion. There are so many critics out there, all with different tastes, so I don't think you can accurately make a blanket statement about all critics sucking. Some will share your point of view, others will not.

Also, critics are hired based on their writing ability and their talent for expressing a thoughtful opinion. They are not hired simply to reflect the taste of the public. (The weekly box office results do that.)

Finally, we don't "all give movies bad ratings." Look more closely - you'll see lots of good reviews for good movies.
