About the movie Shrek 3?

Please answer only if you've seen the other 2 Shrek movies and (liked) them in order to give an opinion about the 3rd movie.

The other day I caught the Siskel and Ebert show and they were talking about the Shrek 3 movie. They both gave it thumbs down, don't know why thats the only part I caught.

Whats up with that I'm wondering because the commercials of the movie look great.

So if you've seen this movie what did you think, comparing it to the last two?

About the movie Shrek 3?
I felt like Shrek 2 was packed with joke after joke after joke after joke, and that's what made it funny to me. The writing for Shrek 3 was not as good. Plus, i feel like there were some weird plot contrivances. For example, the princesses in Shrek 3 were all set to start fighting at one part, then all of a sudden bad guys jump out and they're taken hostage? what the heck? they were just ready to fight a minute ago, so fight! and the ending is kinda unsatisfying, because instead of actually resolving the conflict, they just talk about it. in addition, shrek's babies are strange looking, and a little unsettling to look at, and they flood you with them throughout the movie. I would probably give it a one thumb down, one thumb up rating.
Reply:While Shrek 1, and 2 both had strong plots, and storylines it seems as if they tried to make Shrek three more of a star-studded affair, with new voices such as Justin Timberlake's character they seemed to take away from the original characters we have come to know and love. Report It

Reply:Shrek 3 was fun. I enjoyed it, although I think that the previous two were better. At times, the third one dragged a little, but it really is still worth watching. I laughed quite a bit.
Reply:Saw Shrek 3 yesterday and did not particularly like the movie. Was expecting as much with the third installment. Same feeling I had with the third installment of Spiderman. Thought the first two were more impressive. I am just hoping the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is decent or I am really gonna be disappointed!!
Reply:I saw Shrek 3 this passed weekend and it was not that good. In my option the last two Shrek movies were better and the third one seemed to lose it's spark.
Reply:I've seen all 3 Shrek movies and the third was by far my least favorite. There were moments and some scenes that were definently funny, but the rest of the movie just dragged along and was very predicatable, even for a family movie. Still, I enjoyed most of it but would not see it twice.
Reply:well in my opinion it was good but not great or better than the first or second..

they left alot of chunks of detail next thing you know it was the next scene and it got kind of annoying i found my self falling asleep during some parts. They also forgot to show King Arthur in the end it just missed alot of things they tried too hard to make it funny but hey they got what 120 mil lol thats pretty good for an animated film although it missed alot of details

also i had to pee during the whole movie it was jammed packed in the theater stuffy and no room to breathe.. maybe that affected some of my point of views on the movie
Reply:I saw it on opening night and didn't really like it. The movie had a lot of kiddy style jokes, that didn't really make it funny like the other two. Shrek 2 was the best. I agree with the first guy the end was definalely horrible. Justin did a horrible job I don't think the he should be an actor.
Reply:It was funny but in the middle it got kinda boring and the other 2 were funny too (well alittle more than #3
